EMC donates assorted items as part of Eid Mubarak Celebrations of Muslims

EASTERN MALAWI CONFERENCE PREACHES CORDIAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MUSLIMS AND CHRISTIANS

Eastern Malawi Conference of Seventh-day Day Adventists has called on faith leaders in the country to promote peace and unity between Muslims and Christians.
Conference’s President Pastor Sanned Lubani made the call on Wednesday, 2 April 2025 at Chimbalanga village Mosque, Traditional Authority Malemia in Zomba district after the church donated food and other non-food assorted items to some less privileged Muslims, including the elderly, as part of the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
Pastor Lubani said even Christians observe fasting and prayers, hence the donation to Muslim brothers and sisters as part of celebrating with them while strengthening relationship ties as they close the fasting month.
“One thing we should know and understand is that Christians and Muslims have the same root, we are the descendants of Abraham who was the father of Isaac and Ismael whom Christian and Muslim faith is coming from respectively,” said Pastor Lubani.
In his remarks, Village Headman Chimbalanga thanked the church for promoting unity, love and peace by donating essential items to the needy and said divisions between religions are often created by humans as various faiths share similar values. Among others, the church has distributed maize flour, sugar, salt, matches and soap.
